onMain released two foundational planning documents that set the course for the next phase of Dayton’s Innovation District: an updated Master Plan and newly adopted Design Guidelines. Together, these documents establish a clear, coordinated direction for managing current construction and guiding long-term development across the district.
The updated Master Plan builds on the 2020 plan and reflects significant progress since then. It captures key milestones, including onMain’s designation as an Ohio Department of Development Innovation Hub, a sharpened focus on digital transformation, and the active construction of the Think Dayton building. The plan aligns today’s momentum with a long-term vision for growth, investment, and innovation.
The Design Guidelines translate that vision into actionable standards that will shape how onMain develops over time. They set clear expectations for building design, streetscapes, public spaces, sustainability, and overall district character. As onMain continues to grow, these guidelines ensure that development remains cohesive, high-quality, and intentional, reinforcing a strong sense of place while supporting flexibility for future innovation.
