Phase 1 infrastructure work is now underway at the onMain site. This phase includes installing utilities, roadways, sidewalks, and park spaces across the initial 18 acres located near Main and Stewart Streets. Infrastructure development will proceed in coordination with building construction as approvals are finalized.
A key feature of phase 1 is the integration of green space and public plazas, aligned with the goals of the original Planned Development:
- Canal Park will span approximately one acre and feature a looping walking path, a restored water channel, native plantings, and flexible open space for gatherings. The design includes seating, educational signage, and stormwater management elements that serve the entire 38-acre site. The park is designed for both daily enjoyment and scheduled events.
- Think Dayton Plaza will offer a vibrant, welcoming public space with high-quality landscaping and outdoor seating. Designed to support both casual use and organized events, the plaza will extend the building’s civic and collaborative mission through seasonal programming, public art, and community engagement.
Funding for Phase 1 infrastructure is made possible through partnerships with the City of Dayton, Dayton Public Schools, Montgomery County, and additional community partners.
